Mobirise

In March of 2020, to mark the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, GSL teamed up with Carol Simon Levin to create a special issue of GSL magazine dedicated to the history of the women's suffrage movement in New Jersey. It has been suggested that this should remain a permanent part of the website, so this page was created as a permanent memorial to those in the Garden State who fought for the right of women to vote.

Shout! Poetry for Suffrage is a book of poems Susanna Rich wrote from the points of view
of key historical figures in the battle for Equal Rights for Women.

A selection of these poems was adapted by Susanna Rich and director Ernest Wiggins into an hour-long staged reading by Kean University Conservatory actors, and opened on December 3, 2019.

The following is a series of clips from the larger show collected for this special edition of Garden State Legacy.

For scripts, performance permissions, full production, or solo reading email Susanna Rich or visit her website.
